Let The Kids Color Seashells at The Reception
Being at the beach is loads of fun and kids who take part in beach weddings may have trouble staying away from the sand and surf. Unless you are getting married in swimsuits and plan to have a swimming reception, the little ones will need something to keep them occupied.
I have lots of free, printable seashell coloring pages which you could use to put together in booklet form (I plan to do this one day myself) and hand out to the flower girl, ring bearer and any other children at the reception.
For the older kids a matching page may be appropriate to include. While they color, they can learn a little about the mollusks that inhabit our oceans.
Be sure to supply crayons or colored pencils (I like the twistable crayons so there are no sharpening issues) and have the kits ready at the tables where the kids will be seated.
Assigning an older child to oversee the younger ones on the wedding day is sometimes a good idea and it will give the parents a chance to enjoy the day as well. If you plan to do that, be ready with a gift of thanks for the teen who volunteers.
