A Speedy Yet Sweet, Thank You So Much!

General wedding etiquette requires a personal, hand written thank you but there is nothing wrong with adding your personal message beneath a printed one. It’s a little tacky to simply sign a pre-printed card, so add something personally fitting beneath the printed text.

The text inside this card reads, “It was wonderful to see you at our wedding and the thoughtful gift is greatly appreciated.” Of course, maybe this thank you is for someone who did not attend the wedding, but sent a gift. Customize the message and leave that part out when you order the cards, unless the text works for all guests.

A simple line or two, hand-written before signing, signifies your gratefulness and adds a personal quality so guests won’t feel that a generic, “can’t be bothered” card was sent. Keep it simple, but to the point such as: “Grandma, you look great! The new salad bowl will be used often.” Or: “Thank you both for making the long trip. The day would not have been the same without you there.”
