A Wedding on Honeymoon Island, Florida
This photograph was taken at Honeymoon Island State Park, which is located in northwestern Pinellas County near Clearwater, FL. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
The great thing about Florida’s state parks is that most of them include some sort of water activity. It’s not difficult to find a place near the water in Florida. Most of the state has such a low elevation that ponds, lakes, rivers and springs – not to mention the sea! – are always close by.
Honeymoon Island State Park may not be your preferred spot for a honeymoon, but what about a wedding out in nature? This park is located on the Gulf side of the state in Dunedin, north of Clearwater, and weddings can be booked at the Honeymoon Pavilion which is apparently run by Cafe Honeymoon. Although some parks offer camping (for a honeymoon???), it appears that this one has no place to stay over night, so for the honeymoon you could stay one of the other lovely beaches nearby.
The Park closes at sunset for regular patrons, so having an evening event would mean you’d have the place to yourself. Click the link above to see photos and find a contact number to get more info.
