There are many reasons to thank the members of the bridal party and each of the ladies probably will bring (or have brought) special happiness to your wedding day and the plans leading up to it.

It is customary for the Bride to thank her attendants with a gift of some kind and only you (as the Bride) will know what would be the perfect gift for each friend.

You could begin with a custom, personalized bag with her name and then fill it with a special present you know she’ll appreciate. Women are easy to buy for so it shouldn’t be difficult, just think about her favorite likes and go from there.

This little cloth bag, with artistic pink and purple sand dollars, could be filled with goodies for a day at the beach. Gifts from the heart are always appreciated, and they don’t have to break the bank.

I wrote a little about seashell bouquets in a previous post and since then I have stumbled upon a designer who makes some gorgeous looking themed bouquets, like the one pictured, with starfish and shells with blue beads.

This unique “Blue Starfish Bouquet” for a beach bride was created by Kimberly Aurora and is for sale at her Etsy online store.  She has a stunning array of these lovely, beachy adornments for Brides to carry, Grooms to wear, and Bridesmaids to hold.  And remember – these bouquets won’t wilt and die – they become keepsakes and could even be passed down through generations.

Kimberly has a complete description beneath each design at her Romantic Flowers site and will even create hair pieces to match the shells used in the bouquets. The little boutonnieres are adorable too. She lists the elements used and will do custom work so the Bride may choose colors and make changes to the pictured bouquet as needed.

If these sea life bouquets look heavy, Kimberly even lists the weight (in some cases) along with the size dimensions and they are not overly large and heavy. She also posts a group of photos on each page for various views of the bouquets and additional matching items.

Simply Starfish

If you are a minimalist, you will love the sweet simplicity of this tropical themed card. Saying “thank you” with sincerity is so important, and doesn’t have to be a chore. This card is appropriate for any event from thanking a friend for the birthday gift, to thanking the Maid of Honor for all her kind help with your wedding.

Do you balk at writing a note of thanks? Does your mind go totally blank when you stare at a white page? Try making a list of how you feel – whether about a person, or about the gift they gave, or both. Then use those words to express your thoughts and thanks.

Mention a specific moment that stands out, such as: “Your calming words relieved my anxiety just before my big walk down the aisle.”

Say just what you plan to do with the gift, such as: “The blue vase matches our kitchen perfectly and it will get much use once the garden flowers bloom.”

You get the idea. Being specific makes the message more personal, but you don’t have to write a lot to do so.

Weddings next to the sea or on the high seas (cruise wedding!) offer a lot of pretty choices for symbolism.
Just pick 2 of any of these popular beach themed items to represent the Bride and Groom: Flowers, seashells, starfish, seahorses, sand dollars, etc.

Tropical flowers are one of the first things the beach bride thinks about. Many ladies have a special, favorite flower. My daughter’s favorite flower is the Hawaiian Plumeria or Frangipani which can be dark pink, peachy coral, yellow or white and combinations of all these colors.

Seashells (including starfish and sand dollars) make a pretty looking couple as well.

Starfish, linked by the tail, swimming through the sea, is  romantic symbolism.

Hibiscus flowers and Stargazer lilies are also popular wedding choices for weddings in a tropical location.
